116 The Esplanade Surfers Paradise
This project required the removal of asbestos materials and
demolition of a multi-storey apartment building, basement level
carpark and an in-ground swimming pool. A crane was used to lift
and move an 11T excavator onto the upper levels of the building to
enable the demolition work to be performed from the top down.
The location of this site amongst other high-rise buildings on
the busy Esplanade in Surfers Paradise meant that traffic control
was required in order to enable safe access for contractor vehicles
as well as minimising disruption to traffic flow of the street.
Abyss Demolition's project management and administrative staff were
able to take care of lodging the necessary paperwork required for
the traffic control permit, while also arranging a reliable traffic
control contractor.
