Brisbane Broncos TACF Red Hill

Abyss Demolition completed the asbestos removal and demolition works at the former Ithaca TAFE site in Red Hill to make way for the new Brisbane Broncos Training, Administration and Community Facility (TACF). This project involved the demolition of five buildings, including separation from the buildings to remain onsite, as well as the removal of asbestos products throughout the site. Specialised demolition equipment, including Dustboss machines, were utilised to supress dust generated as demolition work was carried out. The discovery of black (oil contaminated) soil occurred during the works, which required careful removal and safe disposal to ensure the site appropriately remediated.

Abyss Demolition has an Envirnmental Management System which complies with ISO 14001 and supports environmentally sustainable work procedures while striving to achieve best practice in our demolition operations. Throughout this project, Abyss Demolition was focused on minimising the amount of waste being placed in landfill by carefully dismantling, salvaging and separating the building materials. This practice allowed for a high percentage of demolished materials to be recycled.
